Trump and Andrej Babiš Handshake Meme Template
About this meme
This viral political photograph captures a wonderfully awkward moment between former U.S. President Donald Trump and former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš during a international summit (NATO Summit).
As Trump attempts to walk past Babiš to exit or move across the stage, he extends a hand behind him to shake Babiš's hand without stopping or turning around. Babiš stands in place, smiling cheerfully into the camera, holding onto Trump's hand as Trump strides away. The bizarre mechanics of a "drive-by handshake" blew up across X (Twitter), Reddit (r/memes, r/PhotoshopBattles), Instagram, and TikTok as a prime template for awkward goodbyes, half-hearted commitments, or trying to leave a conversation gracefully.
Awkward social mechanics, drive-by commitment, forced politeness, half-hearted effort, and wanting to leave immediately.
- Donald Trump (Left): Shown from the back/side, wearing a dark navy suit, taking a wide stride away toward the left edge of the stage while reaching back blindly to extend a handshake.
- Andrej Babiš (Right): Standing fully upright facing forward in a fitted dark suit, light tie, smiling broadly directly at the camera while grasping Trump's extended hand.

The image displays a full-shot photograph taken on a blue-carpeted summit stage. On the left side of the frame, Donald Trump is captured mid-stride from behind, wearing a navy blue suit with his blonde hair visible. He is walking away to the left while reaching his right arm backward behind his torso to shake hands. On the right, Andrej Babiš stands upright facing the camera, wearing a dark grey suit, light silver tie, and lapel pins. He holds Trump's hand with a polite, wide smile on his face, creating an unusually stretched and awkward posture between the two leaders.
