Two Guys on a Bus Meme Template

This template is a 2013 illustration by Brazilian cartoonist Genildo Ronchi. Originally titled "O lado de cá e o lado de lá" (This side and that side), it was created as a positive-thinking graphic. It went viral in late 2021 as a meme format to contrast two different perspectives on the same situation, often involving niche subcultures, ironies, or the "two sides of the same coin" trope.

• The Sad Passenger (Left): A man sitting on the left side of the bus, looking miserable and dejected while staring at a dark, jagged rock wall. He represents the "Pessimist" or the victim of a bad situation.
• The Happy Passenger (Right): A man sitting on the right side of the bus, smiling and taking a photo of a beautiful golden sunset over rolling hills. He represents the "Optimist" or the person enjoying the hidden perks of a situation.
